Imagine yourselfdoing battle with a giant Kenai King Salmon. These beautiful fish average over 30 lbs. with many exceeding 70 lbs.
The Kenai river holds the current world record line caught King Salmon of 97 lbs 4 oz. In addition, many experts throughout the world expect the next world record to be caught here as commercial fishermen capture Kings in excess of 90 lbs each year from Cook Inlet.
That record could be yours!
King season runs from May 10th through July 31, with 2 distinct "peaks" in the run. The earlyer and more abundant are the Springers. The Spring King run peaks late May to early June with outstanding fishing through June 25th. The later and larger King's arrive around the first week of July with outstanding fishing throughout the month of July. July is the busier month due to the larger King's and world famous Sockeye Salmon.
We also specialize in the other big fishery of the Kenai Peninsula, the Kasilof river. The Kasiof, known to some as the "numbers" river, is right next door. The Kasilof's enormous enhancement run of early Spring Kings this is the fishery of choice for many anglers May through June.
We fish both the Kenai and Kasilof throughout the King season. Fishing the river that is best when it's best!!!
